Sunglasses are an extremely vital tool for avid anglers! Not only do they protect your eyes from the harmful glare of the sun, but they can also allow anglers to see many things they that are difficult to see without sunglasses on, such as cover and structure, fish, bait and subtle movements beneath the surface.
It’s very important for anglers to choose the correct shades for fishing. There are tons options out there, many of which are low quality and don’t help anglers when fishing. I always use polarized sunglasses because they allow me to see much better below the surface. Today, we’re going to help you narrow down some of the best sunglasses on the market that will help you succeed when on the water!
Sunglass lens color can make a difference based on what type of water or type of conditions an angler is fishing. Blue and grey lenses are best in most freshwater situations. Green tends to give anglers more of an advantage in saltwater. And amber lenses are better in low light conditions in either fresh or salt water. You can buy replacement lenses for your shades to use in each situation. Keep this in mind when selecting your pair of sunglasses.
Costa Del Mar Fantail Sunglasses
My favorite pair of shades are the Costa Del Mar Fantail Sunglasses. These glasses come in a variety of frame and lens colors. They are also offered in both glass and plastic lenses. I like plastic lenses because they are lighter and a little less expensive than glass lenses. This pair glasses are polarized, super lightweight, comfortable and durable. They are a great choice for anyone looking for an affordable, high-quality pair of sunglasses for their on the water outings.
Costa Del Mar Blackfin Sunglasses
Another great pair of sunglasses are the Costa Del Mar Blackfin Sunglasses. This pair of shades is similar to the Fantail sunglasses, however, the lenses are a little wider. So, if you prefer a wider lens, you might like the Blackfins better than the Fantails. These glasses are also polarized, light and can be worn all day without any discomfort, and durable. Anglers definitely can’t go wrong with this pair of glasses for their fishing adventures.
Maui Jim Kanaio Coast
The Maui Jim Kanaio Coast sunglasses are another super high-quality pair of shades. They are a little more expensive, simply because they are only with glass lenses, which makes them more resistant to scratches and may appear clearer than plastic. They also have a slightly wider lens and frame. Anglers who choose this pair of shades certainly won’t be disappointed by the quality and toughness these glasses offer.
Calcutta Shock Wave Sunglasses
When it comes to a more budget option, I really like the Calcutta Shock Wave Sunglasses. These shades are inexpensive, yet are still polarized, lightweight, and durable. They offer anglers a good quality pair of shades that will get the job done. If you’re in the market for a very affordable pair of sunglasses, that will still allow you to see those subtle movements beneath the surface, these are just the shades for you!
Dear product reviewer
I find it a little odd that you chose to review sunglasses that are are all from the same over all manufacturing company. Where is your review of RCI, Smiths, Gone Fishing sun glasses, an many others made by other manufacturers than the mega sun glass producer who has lowered the quality an their return policies of their products.
